Diamonds

  • De Beers Canada Inc., Gahcho Kué Project, Northwest Territories, Canada
    • Mr. Waldegger worked at Gahcho Kué during the initial mini bulk sample program in 1998 and the subsequent large diameter drill bulk sample program in 1999 where he worked on the rigs collecting the bulk samples.

      During the Gahcho Kué updated desktop study in 2004/05, Mr. Waldegger worked as a part of the joint Amec/De Beers study team planning and managing the field activities which included drilling for civil, condemnation and kimberlite delineation.  He also collected and organized all documentation related to drilling and compiled a data room for the Gahcho Kué project.

      Mr. Waldegger used Geovia Gems mining software to update the Gahcho Kué 3D geological model and code the block model which he delivered to the De Beers offices in South Africa for review. The model was accepted for grade estimation and the model and resource estimate was used by AMEC and De Beers in their mining studies.

      Mr. Waldegger also worked at Gahcho Kué on drift prospecting campaigns spanning three summer field seasons. During this period he was responsible for planning and coordinating daily traverses, QC of data and sample collection, database management, organizing sample shipments, collecting till samples, investigating geophysical targets, and carrying out administrative duties.

  • De Beers Canada Inc., Victor Project, Ontario, Canada
    • Mr. Waldegger worked at the Victor Project during the large diameter drill and trench bulk sample programs in 2000 and in 2001. He worked on the rigs collecting the bulk samples and also provided assistance in the management of the project and in data capture/management. He also worked on site providing assistance during the DMS sample processing campaign in 2001 delivering sample parameter data in a clear format to the DMS plant manager.

      During the Victor Pre-Feasibility Study, Mr. Waldegger worked as a part of the joint Amec/De Beers study team planning and managing field activities which included drilling for civil, condemnation and kimberlite delineation.  He also collected and organized all documentation related to drilling and compiled a data room for the Victor project.

      Mr. Waldegger used Geovia Gems mining software to update the Victor Southwest 3D pipe model. He visited the DTC in London, UK, where he observed the Victor diamond layout from the large diameter drill and trench bulk samples.

  • Kennady Diamonds Inc., Kennady North Project, Northwest Territories, Canada
    • MFW provided onsite management for the 2015 RC Bulk Sample of the Kelvin Kimberlite. MFW supervised and provided training for the geologists collecting the samples, coordinated drill hole sequencing for two drills, established chain of custody for sample shipments, and worked with the drilling contractor to ensure best practices in sample collection and environmental protection were upheld. MFW compiled the final drill hole database and prepared a report summarizing the results of the field program.

    Industrial Minerals

  • Cameco Corp., Eagle Point Uranium Mine, Saskatchewan, Canada
    • MFW provided resource geology services on a FIFO rotational basis for six months at their Eagle Point Mine, which is part of their Rabbit Lake Operation. The mine is located in the north east corner of the province of Saskatchewan, 40 km from the community of Wollaston Lake. MFW worked with the mine geology department and focused on modelling uranium mineralization hosted in steeply dipping narrow veins in a highly structure controlled setting. MFW used Leapfrog Geo for 3D modelling and Vulcan for grade estimation.
